So this will be the first post about the upcoming NecronomiCon in Providence RI on August 17th-20th. If you've never been, NecronomiCon is a fantastic, all-encompasing, survey of the Weird in fiction, film and gaming. I've been the last 2 times (it's biannually so 2013 and 2015) and I honestly was amazed at how fun and well organized it was. I not only got to see amazing art, hear amazing insights from experts but I made a lot of friends.

There's amazing speakers, cool vendors and interesting panels on all sorts of Weird subjects. A few of the guests of honor are Peter Straub (Ghost Story, Koko, In the Night Room), Nnedi Okorofor (Who Fears Death which has just been optioned for an HBO series to be produced by George R. R. Martin), Richard Stanley (director of Hardware & Dust Devil) and Ellen Datlow (editor of Best Horror of the Year, Lovecraft's Monsters & Lovecraft Unbound).

This year I'll be on two different panels and will be releasing THREE brand new zines! You can find me at the Seventh Church Ministries table with Jeanne D'Angel, Justine Jones and maybe Alan Brown and Kati Driscoll! I'll also have reprints (in very limited numbers) of various Seventh Church Ministries zines. Here's the info on my new books:

Appalachian Compendium is a zine dedicated to monsters from the writing of Manly Wade Wellman! His unique blend of the weird is a combination of world mythology but firmly rooted in the folklore of the Appalachian Mountains.

Mappaemundi Compendium is a zine that was inspired by a trip the Cloisters in NYC and includes 10 drawings of monsters from medieval and renaissance maps.

The last is the first volume of Stories From the Borderland but more on that tomorrow!

And of course, there are still some copies of the Illustro Obscurum Tingleverse Compendium available in the Yog-blogsoth store!

  1. Hi!
Will the new zines be available transatlantically to those not able to attend? One day perhaps!
